Project Management
We advise our clients on the suitable materials to use concerning cost and undertake certain precautions to ensure that the designs are fully implemented. Implementing a management rationale involves much more than systems or processes adding value to the project. At RMG, the most challenging aspect of managing a project is the implementation of a management rationale throughout the project life cycle. The project is created holistically from the beginning, taking into account all the tasks necessary to complete the final product at the same time.
Setting the right budget at the project’s inception is crucial. Throughout the project life cycle, value engineering is something we fervently support. We regularly discuss value engineering with the client in order to take into account project operations as well as the initial capital investment needed to execute the project.
It is customary to think of quality assurance and quality control as a system or procedure used while the work is being done to make sure the deliverables meet the client’s standards. RMG has created its own internal quality assurance system that converts the technical requirements included in the contract into a quality assurance matrix and a number of checklists.
We also strive to project the correct timeframe by using our internal durations database, coupled with our experience working on various sites with different constraints. We work to a master schedule that provides the master dates for what we refer to as the merged works programme, which is populated through the contractor’s works programme. We take an active role, working with consultants, in investigating technical possibilities to reduce the duration of work without straining the project budget. At RMG, we prepare a site-specific management manual which covers procedures for all operations on-site, including, but not limited to, change orders, requests for information, site instructions, health and safety etc.
